The Zimbabwe Nkenya, Rich O'Donnell, Glenn "Papa" Wright Trio brings the disciplines of orchestral, African, and jazz music to the stage in a collaboration between three masters. Rich O'Donnell, director of Electronic Music at Washington University, was the principal percussionist of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra for 43 years. Glenn "Papa" Wright is a professional musician and percussionist who taught for 23 years at the St. Louis Conservatory and Schools for the Arts. Zimbabwe Nkenya, a musician whose work was characterized by the press as "invigorating and refreshingly buoyant" had a serious stroke in late 2009. This concert will be the first to highlight his continuing work on Mbira. The audience will have the privilege of hearing what comes from this musician whose work the Albuquerque Journal once referred to as, "the stirring expressions of an artist who knows no limits."
